Meet The People We Serve

The term "homeless children and youths"--t

Describes individuals who lack a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence. Children and youths who are sharing the housing of other persons due to loss of housing, economic hardship, or a similar reason; are living in motels, hotels, trailer parks, or camp grounds due to the lack of alternative adequate accommodations.

They are living in emergency or transitional shelters; or are abandoned in hospitals.

Homeless And Their Pets

Pets are a lifeline for the homeless. Often estranged from their families, about half the homeless population has a pet, because pets provide unconditional love, companionship, and protection. Pets also give them a reason to live, a reason to get up in the morning. Pets listen without judgement and snuggle without asking. They teach caring and responsibility, and are comfort in every sense.

What do homeless people do everyday?

Homelessness doesn't always equal joblessness: for an estimated 25 percent of unsheltered people, the typical day includes a shift at work. Still more spend time seeking employment, either by stopping by businesses in person or by searching for opportunities online.
